The 102-metre-long mural depicts 35 margraves, dukes, electors and kings from the House of Wettin and was originally created between 1871 and 1876 using the sgraffito technique. To ensure its durability, it was redone in 1907 with around 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles.<\/p>\n<p>This procession on stone combines the past with the present and is an expression of Saxon history, power and culture. Its appearance, richness of detail and symbolic power are reflected in the philosophy of our manufactory.
