The Royal Procession in Dresden<\/h2>\n

The Procession of Princes is a monumental work of art in the heart of Dresden. Over a length of 102 meters, the mural depicts 35 margraves, dukes, electors and kings from the House of Wettin. Originally designed in sgraffito technique between 1871 and 1876, it was redesigned in 1907 with around 23,000 Meissen porcelain tiles for permanent preservation.<\/p>\n

This stone procession combines past and present – as a symbol of Saxon history, power and culture. Its appearance, richness of detail and symbolic power are also reflected in the philosophy of our manufactory. Frederick Augustus I in particular, known as “the Strong”, made a decisive contribution to the promotion of watchmaking in Dresden – before it was relocated to Glash\u00fctte in the course of industrialization.
